Sunday Not-So-Scaries: August 16

Hi, hello Sunday! This week was a bit busy for me, so I’m indulging in my favorite new tradition – doing absolutely nothing all day on Sunday. What a gift.

Last week Tom and I finally took the plunge and ordered furniture for our new living area space. I’m really excited to see how it’ll all come together and share it here. There’s nothing I love more than being at home these days, so why not make it the coziest place to be?

A few things I’m loving right now:

Our new gallery wall! I have been struggling with what kind of art to hang in our hallway and decided to make a gallery wall of old family photos. I love the way it came out. Shoutout to Tom for doing all the brainwork – apparently I’m not very good at math/measurements, but I think we got it down perfectly. Teamwork!

I used these frames from Target, which came in a nine pack – the perfect amount of photos for our hallway.

I’ve been daydreaming about where I want to go when (if) the pandemic subsides. I’ve found so much joy lately in looking up places to stay in Sicily – a dream vacation I’d love to go on with my mom some day.

Modcloth just released this Lady Diana inspired dress, but coincidentally I just bought a VERY similar vintage 80s one on Etsy.

Anyone else have Halloween on their minds yet? I’m obsessed with these Beistle decorations. They remind me so much of the ones I had hanging in my window as a kid.

Speaking of Halloween, this ghost sweater from Modcloth is SO cute!

I think I just became a Taylor Swift fan? I’ve never really listened to Taylor Swift but decided to give her new album Folklore a listen and I love it. It’s so moody and beautiful.

I will be doing a roundup soon of some incredible Black owned businesses I’ve purchased from lately, but I just want to talk about this coffee from BLK & Bold. I bought a bag of the Rise & GRND medium roast to try and it truly makes a great cup of coffee. I’ve had it both hot and iced and it’s great either way.

Amongst so many things to love about this company, 5% of profits go towards initiatives for sustaining youth programming, enhancing workforce development, and eradicating youth homelessness.

Hope you’re all having a relaxing Sunday!
