Hello, hello! It’s really starting to feel like fall here in New Jersey, and it’s THE BEST! I got so excited that I packed away almost all of my summer clothes already, hoping for no rogue 80 degree days.
This week was quite a blur, most likely because my stay-cation came to an end and it’s been an adjustment getting back into the swing/night shift. I’ve been doing this for nearly five years now so I know it just takes some time!
On a somber note, I want to acknowledge the passing of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. She spent her entire career fighting for equality, and for that I thank her.
I do want to share a few things that have brought some light to my week, though.
The cooler weather has put me in a baking mood. The fall and winter are my favorite times of the year to make sweets. I made this skillet peach cobbler recipe from Half Baked Harvest this week, topped with a dollop of vanilla ice cream and it was the perfect treat.
I’m falling behind on every single TV show there is to watch right now, I just don’t have the focus for TV, but Pen-15 came out with its second season on Hulu this week and I am dying to watch it.
I recently started listening to Busy Philipps’s podcast Busy Philipps Is Doing Her Best. She has some great guests on there so far — the interview with Ashley Nicole Black was a delight!
I took a mixology class over Zoom recently (it was free!) and learned how to make a few cocktails. I picked up some Moscow Mule mugs from Target so I can practice.
If you have any littles in your life, I discovered recently while babysitting my nephews that the free version of Calm app has instrumental Disney lullabies for kids. (They were out like a light within two songs).
Look, I know that candy corn is extremely polarizing, but I found a specific kind that I like and I bought a few bags of it, haha. It’s gotta be the Brach’s Mini Candy Corn or nothing at all.
I’ve got chili in the crockpot, and I’m going to whip up a side of cornbread to go with it later on. Until then, I’ll be spending my Sunday the best way I know how — doing absolutely nothing.
Have a beautiful Sunday!
