Sunday Not-So-Scaries: November 22

Hello! I know I haven’t been around much lately, things have been pretty busy. I spent the week with my sister and brother-in-law helping out with my baby nephews which was so special. The oldest is really into the 12 Days of Christmas book lately, and I think we all sang it to him no less than 10 times a day. Fine by me, whatever make him happy.

Last night Tom and I carried out our annual pre-Thanksgiving tradition of watching Planes, Trains and Automobiles. Steve Martin and John Candy are two of my favorites and I just love that movies so much. The ending always makes me cry!

I’m so behind, but I just started the first season of Schitt’s Creek and it is definitely the pick-me-up I’ve been looking for.

I spent some time meal prepping last Sunday, and will again today. Meal prep Sundays were something Tom and I did every single week pre-Covid times, but we kind of stopped doing it once I started being home every single day. One thing I made that I really enjoyed was this cream of broccoli soup recipe from Skinny Taste. I’ve been craving broccoli soup and this definitely was a winner.

I bought myself a Christmas gift that arrived yesterday. A Canon Rebel T-7. I’m SO excited to learn to use it. I took some photojournalism classes in college, but that feels so long ago. So I’m going to do some digging around on the ol interwebs to see if I can find a course for beginners.

Did you know that you can buy Disney Parks coffee and have it shipped to you?! I just found this out. My sister and I really loved the coffee at Kona Cafe at the Polynesian Resort, so I ordered regular for me and decaf for her. So excited to try it!

I put up my new artificial Christmas tree today and I love it so much. I got it in rose gold, but it’s currently sold out so I’m linking one that’s similar. I got it from West Elm on a sale! This is the first time I’ve ever planned on doing two Christmas trees in the house — we’re getting a real one in a couple of weeks. I’m really excited and honestly could use the extra bit of joy. This year has truly been a bear.

It’s SO far in advance but I just booked a cabin for October for Tom’s birthday. We didn’t get to do anything super special because of Covid this year so I really want to make up for it next year. Sounds really wild to book something so far out, but I’m apparently not the only one because their weekends were booked solid haha.

I’m about to make some tea and do some Christmas shopping online for the littles in my life. I hope you all have a beautiful Sunday.
