Hello from chilly New Jersey! It’s so strange how quickly the holidays came and went and it felt pretty different overall. This year was mine and Tom’s 18th (!!!) Christmas together. I still remember the first year we were dating I got him a Bowling For Soup CD. Remember CDs haha? We’ve had so many special holidays together.
Things have been buzzing in our house this week with our new addition, Krampus. We have been working on acquainting the cats in little ways as slowly and gently as we possibly can. Fingers crossed both of our scaredy cats can adjust soon.
Needless to say our Christmas was spent mainly focused on our new adopted cat, and soothing Winnie at the same time. It helped to distract me from the weirdness of the holidays this year, for sure. So I’m grateful for that.
I have been obsessed with the new Taylor Swift album Evermore. I have been listening to it back to back with Folklore. I was never a listener before these albums came out and I think I’m definitely a Swifty, now. My favorite song from Evermore is definitely Coney Island.
One of my new favorite podcasts is The Unconventional Gal: Forging Your Own Path with The Cherry Dollface. I’ve been following The Cherry Dollface for years and years and was so excited to see she was venturing into podcasts. It’s a really fun pod.
Right now I’m reading this book which is SO good already. It’s called The Arctic Fury by Greer Macallister. It surrounds an all-women exploration group in the arctic, and there’s also a murder trial. Can definitely recommend so far! I love reading cold-weather books in winter.
For Christmas this year I bought Tom this Jaws board game. We are definitely board game people so I cannot wait to sit down and play it. He’s a huge Jaws fan and when I saw it I knew it was perfect.
Today I’m planning on working on a big art project for my nephew’s nursery. Once it’s done I’ll share it! I love making art for people I care about, though. Especially the little ones in my life.
That’s it for me today. Have a warm and lovely Sunday. Back into hibernation mode!
